About Us

Who We Are
We are Rod and Susan Henderson. In our 36 years of marriage, God has blessed us with 3 children, 3 more children (by marrying our "born" children), and 2 beautiful granddaughters.

If asked "Who we are", our first instinct is to say "We are poor servants of a great God".  Something else you may hear us say is "We trust God more than we trust ourselves."

What We Believe
  • Jesus is part of the triune God (the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit).
  • Jesus helped with creation and sustains all things.
  • Jesus was born of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus led a sinless life, died on the cross to pay the debt for mankind's sin and now is seated at the right hand of God the Father acting as our intermediary.
  • When Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father but by me", we believe He meant that.
  • Salvation through Christ is a gift given - not earned by us. It must be asked for to have it "accredited to our account". The conflicts of predestination vs. an individual's free will makes my head hurt, so I leave that to the theologians!
  • We believe in eternal security, once an heir always an heir, never to be abandoned or orphaned by our Heavenly Father.
  • The Scriptures, comprising the 66 books of the Bible, are God's inerrant Word.
Testimonies of God's Saving Grace
We give God the glory and praise for doing for us what we couldn't do for ourselves.  Our testimonies are different, but we both have the same hope - a certain home in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Rod's Testimony
As a young teenager, I looked at my life and I saw that regardless of the extremes of failing or succeeding in school or sports they made no difference in my life. This led me to believe that what I was focusing on really wasn't very important. As I was seeking for personal value and worth in God's Word, the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sins and saved me through the shed blood of Jesus.

Susan's Testimony
I was blessed to have been raised in a Christian pastor's home. Although I was taught at a young age to read my Bible, one day I realized that it would be a sad thing to know about Jesus and still go to Hell because I hadn't asked Him to be my Savior. So there in my room, I asked Jesus to be my Savior and to save me from Hell. Although I used to feel that my testimony wasn't as dramatic as others who were saved from horrible situations, I've come to realize that my testimony is as amazing, because God continues to rescue me from my own sinfulness every single day.
