What's YOUR Legacy?
We recently completed our Goodbye Tour (final furlough), which included connecting with all of our supporting churches and the individuals who have supported us in our missions' journey.
As we visited our churches I (Rod) carried four different Bibles, each on a different Sunday —
1. The Revised Standard Version Bible that God used to draw me to Himself
2. Susan’s Dad’s Bible from which he preached
3. A study Bible I received as a gift from our daughter, Leah, and her husband, Will, which helps me dig deeper
4. My own personal Bible from which I read daily and often use when preaching
I carried each of these Bibles to not only honor our Holy God, but to honor the memory of those who gifted them to me. I am very grateful for the legacy each of these individuals left, impacting me richly.
I will be forever grateful that my grandmother left her Bible at our home. It changed my life — eternally. It led me to receive Christ in my teenage years, changing my life forever. Although she passed away before she knew the impact it would have on me, I know she would be pleased by the legacy it left behind — a changed life — and an eternal one.
Are you living in such a way that the transcript of your life would reflect who Jesus is? What is YOUR legacy?
